Developing the Theoretical Framework and Improving My Personal Webpage

This week I continued working on both the theoretical section of my thesis and the development of my personal webpage for the WordPress Credits internship. These two tasks are important parts of documenting my work and showing the progress of my research.

Currently, I am focusing on the theoretical foundations related to stakeholder management, events, and tourism in the context of international conferences. Since my research aims to increase participation in WordCamp Europe 2026, it is important to build a strong theoretical background that explains how different stakeholders influence conference participation.

The first section I am working on is Stakeholder Theory in Event and Conference Management. This part explains how different groups such as organizers, sponsors, contributors, local communities, and attendees play an important role in the success of large international events.

The second section focuses on Stakeholder Roles and Engagement in International Conferences. Here I am examining how active engagement from stakeholders can improve the overall experience of conferences and encourage higher participation.

Another important area of my research is Event Tourism and Its Role in Enhancing Conference Attendance. Conferences like WordCamp events are not only professional gatherings but also opportunities for participants to explore new destinations, which can influence their decision to attend.

Finally, I am studying the inter-relationship between internal and external variables affecting event attendance. Internal factors include event organization, program quality, and stakeholder involvement, while external factors may include travel accessibility, tourism appeal, and economic conditions.

At the same time, I am also working on improving my personal WordPress webpage. Currently, I am focusing on designing the homepage and adding more content to better present my internship work and research progress. This helps document my learning process and makes the project more transparent.

Overall, this week has been focused on strengthening the academic foundation of my thesis while also improving the presentation of my work through my personal webpage.
